Spectrasolv® DMDA is a multifunctional synthetically produced amide of Dimethylamine and Capric (n-Decanoic) Acid. Spectrasolv® DMDA has vastly superior solvency for sunscreen actives compared to traditional esters such as C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate and Isopropyl Palmitate, and is much more polar. According to research findings in our laboratories, the increased polarity may have a beneficial impact on the performance of many broad-spectrum sunscreen products.

Spectrasolv® DMDA also improves the freeze-thaw stability of emulsions. Its secondary amine and total nitrosamine contents conform to requirements presented in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products.  Recommended use level: 0.5-2.0%.
