Broad Spectrum SPF 50+, PA++++ O/W Sunscreen Lotion

This oil-in-water sunscreen lotion formulation is designed to provide globally broad spectrum, label SPF 50+, performance. In vitro analysis indicated SPF ~ 62, PFA (PPD) ~20 broad spectrum performance with critical wavelength 379 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE

1To a secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing. Heat to 80°C and add phase B.
2To the main vessel add phase C, start mixing and add phase D items in order.
3When solids of phase CD are fully incorporated, heat phase to 75°C.
4When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase AB to phase CD with prop mixing.
5Add phase E to phase ABCD with mixing. After 5 minutes start cooling batch and when batch is below 50°C add phase F items one by one with mixing.
6Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth.
