A broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen lotion using ony mineral UV filters. SolaStay® S1 is incorporated to mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating activities of the oxides. The various oils and HallBrite® BHB contribute to its favorable esthetics. The formula was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~55, PFA (PPD) ~23 performance with critical wavelength 379 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
1 | To the main vessel add phase A and start mixing, disperse phase B and then heat to 80°C. |
2 | Add phase C to phase AB, mix well until all are dissolved and then homogenize for 3 minutes. |
3 | To a secondary vessel add the Water of phase D, start mixing, add the Disodium EDTA and then add Xanthan Gum, stirring until fully incorporated. Start heating to 75°C. |
4 | When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add the water phase D to the oil phase ABC with gentle homogenization. Start cooling. When < 50°C, add premixed phase E and then add phase F. |
5 | Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replace any water lost to evaporation and mix until smooth. |
