Oil-in-Water SPF 50 BB Cream

This oil-in-water BB cream provides broad spectrum sun protection. SolaStay® S1 provides very rapid and efficient excited state quenching of Avobenzone, protecting it from photodegradation and improving sunscreen performance. HallBrite® BHB (Butyloctyl Salicylate) in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX aids UV filter solubility and enhances product feel. Three-person in vivo testing yielded static SPF 58.7 in a EU lab. This formulation was also subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~ 55, PFA (PPD) ~ 25 performance with critical wavelength 383 nm.

1To a secondary vessel, add phase A and start mixing. Add premixed phase B with mixing and then add phase C.
2Start heating phase ABC to 75°C and add phase D, mixing well until uniform.
3To the main vessel add phase E and mix until fully uniformly incorporated. Heat to 75°C.
4When both phases are homogeneous at their designated temperature, very slowly add phase ABCD to phase E.
5Homogenize phase ABCDE for 3 minutes and then switch to center-stir mixing.
6Start to cool to room temperature and when batch is below 50°C add phase F, mixing to uniformity.
