Sunscreen Cream SPF 50

This formulation was designed to provide broad spectrum (SPF/PFA ≤3) performance. Combining SolaStay® S1 and HallBrite® ISO is incorporated to mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating activities of Titanium Dioxide and to rapidly and efficiently quench the excited states of Avobenzone, protecting it from photodegradation, and so improve sunscreen performance. HallBrite® BHB aids wetting and dispersion of the Titanium Dioxide and contributes to UV filter solubility and enhanced product feel. This formulation was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~55, PFA (PPD) ~37 performance with critical wavelength 380 nm. (5 Stars UVA/UVB 1.04-1.02)

1In secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing. Disperse phase B with continue mixing.
2Heat AB to 85C and then, add phase C with mixing.
3Add phase D into ABC and mix well until phase D is dissolved.
4Add water of phase E to the main vessel, dissolve EDTA with mixing and then add Xanthan Gum, stirring until fully incorporated.
5Start heating to 80C, and add premixed of phase F.
6When both phases are homogenous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add Oil phase (ABCD) to the water phase (DE) with prop mixing.
7Start homogenizing for 3 mins. Resume prop mixing, and start cooling down until room temperature.
8Add phase G when batch < 40C with mixing. Replace any water lost to evaporation, and mix until smooth.
