Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30

This sunscreen lotion formulation was designed to provide broad spectrum (SPF/PFA ≤3) label SPF 30 performance. SolaStay® S1 provides very rapid and efficient excited state quenching of Avobenzone, protecting it from photodegradation, while also mitigating the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating activities of the oxide, improving sunscreen performance. HallBrite® BHB aids UV filter solubility and enhances product feel. This formulation was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~ 37, PFA (PPD) ~ 21 performance with critical wavelength 379 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE

1In secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing. add phase Binto phase A with continued mixing.
2 Heat phase AB to 85°C and then, add phase C into phase AB with mixing.
3Add phase D into phase ABC and mix well until phase D is dissolved.
4To the main vessel add the Water of phase E, start mixing, add the Disodium EDTA, then add Xanthan Gum
5 Start heating to80°C , and add premix of phase F.
6When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABCD into phase EF with prop mixing. Start homogenizing for 3 mins, then cool down.
7At < 50C, add phase G into phase ABCDEF, mixing until room temperature. Replace any water lost, and mix to smooth
