Hallstar Names New President

SPECIALTY CHEMICAL INDUSTRY SEASONED PROFESSIONAL MARY KONS NAMED PRESIDENT OF HALLSTAR BEAUTY, GLOBAL SUPPLIER OF INGREDIENT SOLUTIONS FOR SKIN AND SUN CARE

Mary T. Kons has joined specialty chemical supplier Hallstar as President of its Beauty & Personal Care division, overseeing a global organization of sales, product development, and supply chain professionals across four continents.

Carmen Masciantonio, Hallstar’s chief operations officer and industrial solutions president, is confident about how Kons’ expertise will contribute to the company’s future. “The addition of Mary to our senior leadership team reflects Hallstar Beauty’s brand growth and accelerated innovation activities,” he observes, “as well as the industry’s increasing complexity when it comes to regulatory and consumer demands. Her depth of experience in the cosmetic chemistry business has prepared her to lead a diverse operation like ours, and her personal commitment to creating a people-focused, value-driven culture matches Hallstar’s approach perfectly.”

Prior to Hallstar, Kons worked for over 14 years at Evonik Corporation in commercial roles, most recently serving as vice president of North American business. She is consistently recognized for her passionate, collaborative style and her proven ability to inspire team excellence and experimentation.

Masciantonio also points out that, “Mary is coming aboard at the outset of Hallstar’s integration of Sytheon, which we acquired at the end of October 2024. She has a valuable perspective on working with global colleagues on strategies for rapid product porfolio expansion, having played a key role in the integration of several Evonik acquisitions.”

Kons earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University as well as a master of business administration from DePaul University. She lives with her family in Park Ridge, Illinois, and will be based at the Hallstar Beauty headquarters in nearby Darien when she is not traveling to visit her new colleagues in China, Singapore, France, Italy and Brazil.
