Biphasic Sunscreen Spray SPF 30

Formula Number: JZ12-304

Request a physical prototype of this formulation

This biphasic sunscreen does not use an emulsifier and yet is stable. The combination of Hallstar® Octyl Isononanoate, SolaStay® S1, and HallBrite® BHB helps optimize polarity, viscosity, and density to form two phases. In vivo testing in a US laboratory (5 subjects) yielded static SPF 37. We used Colipa Guidelines (2011) in our testing which delivered SPF ~34 and PFA (PPD) ~11 performance. Critical wavelength = 375 nm. UVA1/UVA – 0.80. Importantly, the formulation contains neither oxybenzone nor octinoxate, which means it complies with the 2018 Hawaii sunscreen bill that goes into effect in 2021.

Note: our Biphasic Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 requires a good shaking before use.
