This Powerhouse Protector sunscreen demonstrates the powerful synergistic impact that the SolaStay® S1 photostabilizer can have, even with photostable UV filters. While it does not contribute significant SPF and PFA on its own, SolaStay® S1 increases the photochemical efficiency of the high molecular weight organic UV filters to enable SPF 40 UV protection. Hallstar solvents, led by the powerful Spectrasolv® DMDA, also enable simple and effective solubilization of these challenging solid organic UV filters. In vivo testing in a US laboratory (3 subjects) yielded static SPF 40.25, and in vitro analysis suggests SPF ~ 37, PFA (PPD COLIPA2011) ~14, and critical wavelength of 375 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
| 1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A with mixing and heat up to 80°C; |
| 2 | Add phase B into phase A, and mix well until uniform; |
| 3 | To the main vessel, add pre-mixture of phase C and add phase D with mixing. Heat up to 80°C; |
| 4 | When AB and CD phases are homogeneous, slowly add phase AB to phase CD with strongly mixing; |
| 5 | After combination, mix for 10 minutes, then start cooling with mixing; |
| 6 | Strat cooling. When < 50°C, add phase E with mixing until uniform. |
| 7 | Add water lost and mix until uniform. |
